Julia Child’s reassembled kitchen at the Museum of American History in Washington, DC has inspired me to make a few changes to my kitchen. Julia Child was no stranger to color, especially contrasting colors. She had blue kitchen ![]()
Step 1
Julia Child had bright blue kitchen cabinets with a bright yellow table cloth. The contrasting colors worked great together and made the kitchen brighter and appeared larger. Don’t be afraid to paint your cabinets!
Step 2
Julia Child was a huge knife buff and claims she had to have every knife she ever laid eyes on. Julia used store bought magnetic knife racks, but it’s super easy to make your own at home.
Step 3
Don’t be afraid to display your cookware. Everyone thinks all pots, pans and dishes need to be put away where no one can see them. Sometimes displaying cookware as art works, and it makes the kitchen a more inviting space.
